Tony Lee Moral’s 40,000 word children’s novel StarMaker: Prince Hal and the Magic Firestone is the first in a trilogy, called StarMaker by Moral, who is a published author, television producer and screenwriter, including several episodes of Man vs Wild for the Discovery Channel and Doctor Who Confidential for the BBC.

 Prince Hal and the Magic Firestone is a tale of Hal taken from his parents as an infant to the elite StarMaker academy on a distant planet to protect him from an evil power. On the morning of his thirteenth birthday, he is summoned by the academy council to travel to Earth. There he must find The Firestone, a rare and magical stone, which can only be found by solving a series of puzzles and clues, that will also lead him to a portal to bring him home. Hal has exactly 24 hours to find the Firestone and return otherwise he will be stuck on Earth forever. Hot on his heels is a deadly bounty hunter called Elijah X who will stop at nothing to catch him. Befriended by two New York teens, he is able to find and decipher all the clues and complete his mission and return home, but not before finding out all about Planet Earth.

 Strong bonds are formed as the three friends have to find their way through to locate four magical stones of unimaginable power that represent the four elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, learn the secrets of Hal’s birthright – a cosmic prophecy to which he is the key – and defeat an evil and devastating foe. Along the way they will find encounter unlikely allies, travel through time and space and battle strange alien creatures. They must find all four stones which are carefully hidden by a series of clues.

This is the first of the StarMaker Trilogy which also includes Book II: StarMaker: Prince Hal and the Cosmic Prophecy and Book III: StarMaker: The Return of Prince Hal. It is a thrilling middle-grade title and has the feel of a future classic. It is not only entertaining but educational as well. Those who read it will be reminded of other great literary works, their authors, and the importance of the stories they reveal during a whirlwind 24 hour race to find the Firestone.
