This gripping thriller opens amidst a fierce battle between a crack Special Forces A-Team and the Taliban on a remote mountain side in eastern Afghanistan in 2002 and takes us to the present day, where a high level al Qaeda operative succeeds in planting an explosive device about the former US President’s GulfStream jet.  His motive, revenge for the murder of his family.

Over the Gulf of Panama, the bomb explodes at 41,000 feet in the baggage compartment of the jet.  Aboard the plane is the former President’s youngest daughter, EmilyParker, her protective security detail, Secret Service agents Karen Duffy and Pete Murray, as well as Jake Walker, a former Special Forces operative and recipient of the Medal of Honor.

Emily, Duffy and Jake survive the crash into the forest at the southern tip of Panama, only for Fiona and Duffy to be kidnapped by Colombian drug traffickers.  Jake’s past compels him to track the Colombians as they make their way across the border intent on negotiating a ransom.

From the mountain peaks of Afghanistan, to the streets of Iraq, this thriller also gives us an insight into the detective skills of the CIA, the shadowy world of al Qaeda and the ruthless region of northern Colombia.
