Desparado

Sonny Bonner is holding the straw that broke the camel’s back. Sitting at the stop light, it just happened to be the guy in the car next to him picking his nose that set the straw in place. He lost it. All the men who had ever meant anything to him were dropping like flies: his brother, who he just connected with after almost 20 years, his dad who he stood by to the very end, and now his boss/mentor by the hands of a brain tumor. On top of it all, he is married to a woman who doesn’t love him and who he’s staying married to out of pure, instilled obligation. There was only one thing to do – get out – of town, his marriage – just go.

Desperado is an initial journey on horseback from Texas to Alaska, but Bonner’s detour to his “brother’s” cabin several days into it, carries you back to where his life’s true meaning began; bringing him full circle, and to healing.
